One baby green cheeked conure
I’m anxious to introduce my birds since I’ve never done it before. I imagine that they will have to figure out their pecking order and there might be a few bites but how do I know when to proceed and when to take a step back. The new baby bird I’m sure will be fine but my existing hahns has been caged alone for 6 months. Just after some guidance please.

My best advice is how quick is the motion.
if one bird is approaching the other slowly ant tentative it’s friendly.
If the bird moves to the other quickly it’s probably not safe.

when birds fight for real it’s fast like a cat fight. It can happen to fast to stop.

Oh dear, that doesn’t make me less nervous! I’m not sure how to
Go about it in a safe controlled way.

Generally speaking you start with two cages a few inches apart.
slowly move them closer together.
If the birds try grooming each other letting them out of the cage at the same time should be safe.
If the just try to fight when the cages are close together they may not get along.
