He has been hiding his face like this a lot lately, is he alright?

He's been eating, jumping around and playing with his toys like regular, but it's that even in the day, he has been hiding his face like he's about to sleep, and I'm unsure if it's just because he's tired or if there maybe is something more serious happening. If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it, taking him to the vet is only a last option really, since I live with my parents and don't make my own money, and it'd be expensive.

Make sure he's getting 10-12 hours of sleep. He might be sleep-deprived. He could also be sick. Check his poop and weight. Sick birds are not constantly lethargic because they have a natural instinct to hide weakness due to being prey animals. If you can't afford to take him to a vet then try consulting with one online. It does not in any way replace vet care but it can give you some valuable advice if you're desperate.

I have a female English budgie, Mariah, who does the same thing. She tucks her head like that and either naps or hides, I can't figure out which one. Sometimes her exposed eye is open sometimes closed. No amount of noise can get her to "wake up". I've even tapped her on the head and scratched her head and she still doesn't move and she's not a super hand tame bird. She eats well, poops normally, and comes out of her cage (door always open) to hang out on top with the others and nap or take a few flights around the room so she isn't obviously sick.
Generally, a budgie that does this isn't well. Mariah may not be well but she's been like this since I got her from a good breeder a year ago. She was bred twice before I got her at two years old. I've chosen not to take her to the vet for a full evaluation (about $300) because I don't think she has anything wrong with her that a vet could fix. I believe in giving my budgies good medical care but I know the limitations with small birds and my Bank account. If there's a good chance of the vet being able to treat my birds illnesses without having to take out a mortgage, I'll do it but otherwise its often just an "intellectual exercise". However, if a bird is injured I'll definitely take him in and if one is suffering I'll pay for euthanasia.
I think your situation with your budgie is very similar.

Thank you for your answer, but I think he is honestly just tired. I need to adjust my own sleep schedule, but I will make sure to give them a proper rest, and those 10-12 hours of sleep that you were talking about. His poop is like normal, and while I didn't manage to tame him to be able to check his weight comfortably (he won't go on my finger yet) and I know that birds hide illness really well, I'll try to give him more sleep, and then go and try to get vet help if it persists.
