Is Anybody Out There?

This happened a couple weeks ago, but I forgot to post about it until Katie brought up Jasper being funny. We had a storm roll through in the middle of the night and there was a lot of wind and it knocked the power out for a couple hours. Overall, not really a big deal, it was relatively warm, so there was no fear of the birds getting chilled or anything, but it did kill everything that normally makes noise in the house in the middle of the night like the hum of the fridge, and the fan, etc.

Anyway, the power went out right about midnight, so all that background noise went away. Except one thing. In the silence, you could hear Tiki in the other room calling out, "hello...hello?" Like he was trying to find out if anyone was out there. I thought it was hilarious that he started doing that as soon as the power went out, sort of reminded me of the set-up for some horror movie. Fids say the darndest things.

During that same period, Our DYH Amazon and I was a the Cottage and that Thursday evening it was the same, but outside. At the shoreline, with no wind, a flat lake and not a sound!

The reality: No One Was Out There!

We so easily forget just how noisy our World is with all the background stuff!

Gotta love that Tiki boy lol..being "blind" and all, I'm sure his hearing is heightened and that determines how his day is going..then all of a sudden "huh? its quiet out there..whats going on?"

I'm starting to get a real fondness towards Ekkie's now,after reading about Tiki and Jasper and Chicken and Venus and Lincoln and looking at their pictures..I just LOVE their faces lol.
I never had a chance to get up close and personal with one though..would love to meet one someday

I would love to say you could come on over and meet Chicken and Tiki, Tiki likes company anyway, and I would love to meet Amy. However, I think Illinois is a bit too far of a drive for an afternoon.

I mentioned to our resident Ar-teest,Ms Gail,one day,that IF EVER I came across winning lotto or something like that,I'd buy myself a mid-sized RV, do it up to accommodate Amy and Beebers,and head off to the wild blue yonder,with a huge list of names and places to visit every and any of this fine forum members and their fids as possible lol.
I could possibly spend the rest of my days having the time of my life with my kids
