How often have you replaced your bird's cage? I'm thinking of replacing my Conure's cage. I 've had her for about ten years and only replaced her cage once. I did a deep cleaning of her cage a couple times. Once after boarding her about a week when traveling and once when she stayed with the Vet for three days. It was a good time to do a deep cleaning of the cage.

Its long over due. However it might be nice to put her in a temporary cage. Please, any ideas are welcome?

It's always good to have a back up cage even if it's one of those collapsible travel cages.
You can get one on Amazon for about $50. I imagine her cage is pretty dirty if you've only deep cleaned it a few times. I hate deep cleaning cages especially when the birds that live in it need to be physically removed like some of my wilder budgies but it must be done. I don't do their cage nearly enough.
Do you like the cage she has (when it's clean)? If so, just clean it and get a travel cage. If not, buy her a new palace, but not because it's dirty!

If you like your cage ( and the bird likes it!) you shouldn’t need to buy a new one very often if ever. Really, a cage only needs to be replaced if it’s damaged or rusting or you’re upgrading to a bigger, better cage. My budgies have had the same cage for over a decade. JJ the Quaker has a palace in his giant flight cage which I got with the intention of it lasting him a lifetime. The budgie cage has a tiny bit of rust in one or two spots but not enough for me to worry.

I deep clean both cages at least twice a year. JJ’s gets cleaned a little more often just because he’s a little bit dirtier bird and spends more time in his cage. The budgies are out and about for much of the day. I don’t put my birds in another cage while cleaning. The budgies just find a place to sit somewhere in the room while JJ sits on an outside perch and occasionally climbs inside to yell at and bite the cleaning rag for desecrating his cage, lol! Putting your bird in another age while cleaning would be up to you.

As above. My current cage is over 40 yo. It'd cost me well over 1K to replace with same size etc. The only problem is the acrylic material bottom eroded around wheels. So bottom is on a home made frame. No rust etc.
