Is it ok to give parrots feathers to play with?

I got this preening toy for my boy, Eko. He had all of the feathers off immediately and enjoys trying to catch them when I let them float above him and I stick them under his wings and he seems to have a fun time. Anyway, would the boas that come from Hobby Lobby, and other craft stores be safe for bird play? I wouldn't be encouraging him to pull feathers would I?

I would stay away from boas, they are not designed to be stuck in mouths.

I use Rosie's molted feathes as toys, works great!
