my girl (pinne green cheek) loves hair (of course) and we have a bag of kapok fiber that is made for hamsters so it's natural, non-tox,hypo,and no pesticides i was thinking that she would like to sort thru some i can't find any more info on web than wild parrots love kapok trees and fruit any suggestions? she is new to our home and is adjusting well (surprisingly well) but seems to really calm down when grooming us i just can't do it all day!

Sorry Velvet, but everything sold in pet shops or for our furry or feathered pets may not really be good for them.....cedar shavings are sold for pet bedding when it causes skin problems in dogs, cats & other furry animals as well as feather loss, skin conditions and even death in young birds, then there's the mite repellent containers sold in many pet stores that is nothing more than moth crystals...deadly to many animals, including birds.....

Although kapok is not deadly, it seems to be an allergy problem for animals susceptible to asthma...here's a few links you can peruse:
