I have noticed my Alexandrine goes into that position sometimes. Does that mean she's ready for mating

Yep dark shadowy space + nesting materials + butt in the air = mating behavior. Most people try to minimize this if they are not looking to breed a parrot. Mating behavior can also include butt rubbing, more biting, more noise and mood changes.
Minimizing it includes:
No dark shadowy spaces
No shreddy type mating materials
12 hrs good solid quiet sleep
No touching anywhere except head and neck
Reduced or no sugary foods, like fruits and other foods which are converted to sugars in their body, like corn.

These can minimize but not eliminate mating behavior. You cant eliminate them its part of nature.

Thanks. The boxes keep her occupied. If not she will find something else to schred. Do I just keep her in the cage? How long is it going to last

For captive bred birds, it can last anywhere from a month to a year.
You don't have to keep her in her cage for the whole time, just get shredding toys that aren't dark and shadowey.

Goes into what position?

Sometimes female parrots crouch and drop their wings. It can mean they ‘love’ you and are confused and hormonal. It doesn’t mean they need to have a bird boyfriend / mate or they need or want to lay eggs.

Sorry, when I saw your post before I only saw the text question and no photo. Not sure what was up with that. And now that I see the other photo of the chewed up box…yes, I think we’re all on target.
