Hi, I am new here I have one tiel and have had budgies in the past, I really want a Crimson-Bellied Conure and I found this store about a few hours away, the seem legit but I really don't know.

Well, hard to know for sure, but I'm not seeing the typical scammer red flags so far. Did they give you a physical address so you could visit in person?

Well their prices are high, even for the New York area, especially for the more rare parrots. For the more common species, they are pretty much in line with NYC pricing (green cheek conures, Ringnecks, etc). Their 'rare' ones are pretty spendy, which leads me to the other point. They are showing an incredible range of parrot species, things like Hawk-head parrots, several of the hybrid macaws, and pionus ones too. And some of the rarer conures! This makes me think they actually raise a few of these and the rest are brought in from other aviaries. I would visit them or ask outright if this is the case.

They have a store in Miami

And can I keep the Crimson belly with my tiel, she is very gentle and I have an aviary which she is alone in, and if not a Crimson belly I just LOVE CONURES which others could get along with her in an aviary setting, maybe a GCC

I placed a deposit few weeks ago and my bird should be shipping this Tuesday, so will let you know. I’m a bit nervous but has been a good experience so far. The main contact is Carlos and he is pretty responsive so far. He provided me photos and videos with time stamp of the bird I am buying.

I received my Dusky Pionus today, shipped via Delta Cargo from Florida Parrot. I was very timid at first due to all the scam sites out there, and did a bit of research on Florida Parrot. Birdbreeders.com was what initially lead to me discovering Florida Parrot, which then lead to great customer experience with Carlos. Carlos has been very responsive with all my questions since this was the first time I ever bought and shipped a live animal online. The baby Dusky is adorable and was Shockingly very comfortable around hands. I managed to get him/her (still waiting on DNA results) out of the crate without too much screaming and stepped up on the first day, within the first hour when I got to the house. The bird did well traveling, considering Carlos dropped the bird at the Miami airport at 5 AM and I picked it up at 1:50 PM plus another 4.5 hours driving back to my house. Great experience, great bird, willing to do another purchase later on!

Thank you so much, know I can get a burs from there without hesitation!!!

They have a store in Miami
They do not have a store. They met me in in a parking lot, felt like a drug deal. Unfortunately I learned the hard way and got an Amazon that had PBFD and I had to have the bird euthanized. They offered no recourse for me and ghosted me. I am not the only one. Beware of Florida Parrot.

Absolutely stay away, I learned the hard way and got an Amazon that had PBFD and I had to have the bird euthanized. They offered no recourse for me and ghosted me. I am not the only one as I have spoken to others that have also ended up with sick birds.

This is a thread from 2024......Mods can we clean this up?

Welcome to the forums @Jorge45, I'm sorry your experience with this retailer was less than ideal but I appreciate you sharing your observations that may benefit others. @clark_conure, this may be an "older" thread, but the seller in question's website is still live, so I think this thread is still relevant.

Thank you just wanted a mod to look at it, if its fine then good. The thread was weird.

purchased a Black lorikeet from them last fall who unfortunately passed yesterday unexpectedly. I’m unfamiliar with PBFD but I know it’s highly contagious. Do you know of other people whose birds developed this from Florida Parrots?
