Never hurts to be skeptical when it comes to this. Just do your research once you find some sources.

There are advantages of allowing an adult parrot to choose you! They select base on an emotional link while Human are all about 'wants.'

Although, Lilac-Crowned Amazon are among the sweetest Amazons, there are no assurance that they will continue to love you after they transition from baby to adult.

I strongly recommend that you consider the joy of an Amazon that chooses you.
