Parrots
gcc Parry; lovebird Coco; 3 budgies (Tesla, Franky and Cesar); cockatiel Murzik, red rump parakeet girl Onyx
I joined this forum a year ago asking advice about getting a little sad gcc out of Petsmart misery... We had pet rats then and just went to pick up some supplies for them, when my hubby found a little sad dirty green bird sitting in the corner of the cage and staring at the wall. We both couldn't sleep that night, and around 2am he asked me - hey shouldn't we get this poor bird - I'm so sorry for it that I can't sleep. Next day I wrote to this forum and got an overwhelming support in my decision to bring little Parry home.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into! :D Getting bitten by a bird bug changed my life forever. :D I cannot believe it was just a year - I feel like I was going to a "bird school" for several years. When you want to learn you learn! LOL
Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for support - Im so glad to be a part of this forum! I'm a happy bird momma, and I love my little fids to bits!!! :D For me a house is not a home without bird chirping in it! :)

Awwwwwww, what a sweet story! I remember when you got Parry! And look at you now, with all those other birds too! Like you, I have learned so much from this forum, I am addicted to it, lol.

I totally agree, a house is not a home unless there is at least one bird in it!

Awww, I hope this is the first of many years together for you and Parry.

Haha, I don't remember what my house sounded like with no birds.

Yep - parrots of all sizes & shapes - it's a disease.

There is no cure. We just have to learn to live with it...happily!

Just last night, my wife said "How did we ever manage without birds?!?" I told her that we were miserable, and just didn't know it. Now, we're happy...and broke!

Lol. I think you are so right. Funny enough, I was just telling someone today, I can not remember what made me decide to get a parrot almost six years ago, but boy oh boy, today I am so happy that I did. The way they enrich our lives is unexplainable to "Non-Bird-People". (NBP's. Is that a thing yet? Like MBS? Lol)

LOL, so true... we weren't less broke before :D I guess the money just goes to the right place now. :D
Parrots are so much joy indeed. Like this little Tesla running all over me right now, talking his own funny language and giving me kisses. :) :greenyellow:
