Parrots
1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
Our local Petsmart has these $2 and $3 wood bead toys Kiwi really likes and I stop in every so often and get him one (as many of you know, I usually make him toys or get him baby toys since he likes those just as much as pricey 'parrot' ones). Well today was such a day I thought I'd bring the winged beast home a little toy. Look what happened instead:54::D

I know the picture doest show the size really well, but that big one next to the whiffle ball toy is about 18" long of beads and knots:eek:, not to mention the 3 other huge toys and random 'medium' sized ones. The "linked" toys I'll be adding other beads and little foot toys I have to make mega-toys lol:D. They were having a "buy 2, get 1 free" deal on ALL their parrot toys, including the clearance ones!!! I couldn't miss out! All those toys cost under $60!!! Typically 2 of those big toys would be about $60. I'm not sure if all Petsmart's are having this deal or just ours (that's the one off Cedar Hills Blvd. in Beaverton if you're in the Portland area) but I thought it was worth mentioning in case other forum members wanted to see if their local one was having such a great sale (especially if you have big birds). This will keep him occupied for quite a while!

I do the same get cheaper toys ,combine them add toys reload wood. You don't have to buy expensive toys. You would be surprised what toys you can come up with for a couple dollars versus 40 to 60.

With your flock, you must have a full time job keeping them all in toys lol. You should post some of your creations sometime, especially since you make toys for such a variety of sizes of birds.

I rarely buy these kind of toys for Kiwi, but I occasionally bring a wood one home or buy multiples when I see a good sale on them. He more unties all the knots and disassembles them rather than chews them up, so I can reuse the beads, rope and blocks over and over:) We have beads and blocks with only slight nibbling that have been washed so many times all the color is gone lol.

AWESOME toys, April, and at a GREAT price, too!!! :D I'll be taking a trip to our Petsmart in a little while to see if they offer similar savings. Fingers crossed!

Kiwi must have been in heaven when he saw what you unpacked for him! :)

Yup it is at all Petsmarts. I was at one here in Texas yesterday and they were having that sell. Applies to dog toys too if anyone has furry kids!
