4 Budgies various ages
Since we adopted our GCC Darwin a little over 2 years ago, this forum has served as an awesome resource. Over that time, our flock has grown to include 4 budgies and a sweet pionus, Bella. Our pantry has been overtaken with sprouting grains and bean mixes, and our closets are brimming with travel cages, toys, and perch-building material. We have grown a lot in our understanding of being good parronts. I want to continue to learn and help contribute when I can.

I have lessons-learned with: designing parrot toys, DIY parrot perches, homemade parrot-safe foods, target training (touch training), harness training (work in progress, but I'm willing to share my experience thus far), screaming, toe amputation recovery, transitioning from a seed diet, traveling with parrots, delivering medication via syringe

Would like to learn more about: How to condition bird to accept wing touch (for exams and harness application)

Thanks for being a great resource!

Hello and welcome to the forum!
I would love to see pictures of your flock, and I love their names!
I loved your title of this thread, it made me smile.
I'm so happy you joined us.

Toe amputation recovery? Is that humor? My conure tries to bite my toes upon sight. My wife says that being barefoot around our conure is just asking for it, like pulling a dog’s tail and not expecting it to bite.

A warm formal welcome Apryle, Darwin (GCC), Bella (BH Pionus), & the Budgies (Banjo, Ishmael, Cypress, and June)...thank you for introducing yourself and your flock.:)

Please check out the link that Scott provided. Touching 'wings' and 'head scratches/touch' will come with trust and get you where you need to be for harness training.:red1::green2:
