The birds are chirping and food is aplenty... Spring is here!

Today I went down to the park with Birdy to enjoy the first nice weather we've had in a few months.
We attracted the attention of quite a few locals and I managed to take a few photos.

It all started when Birdy thought it was a fine time to take a shower.

And spotted something watching him from above.

A couple of Lorikeets looking for a nesting place.

They wouldn't appreciate my presence and wouldn't stop screaming at me.

Or maybe they were screaming at Birdy for hanging around with a clumsy human?

These birds were much more chilled out.

I have no idea what they are though. Maybe someone can help me out with a name?

I think he is looking at Birdy wondering, "What kind of bird is that?" too.

Just thought I'd share the good times with a happy thread! :D

Aww this is so sweet! I'm wondering what those other birds are as well.

Oh, such beautiful photos! It must be so amazing to see all these wild parrots flying around.

I wish I could go outside and see lorikeets at the park. Those bird in the sixth pi kinda look like budgies but I am no expert.

Thanks Danny!
I can't believe you know that and I don't when you're on the other side of the Pacific and they're flying around in my backyard!

Such awesome pictures, love them hehe! :)

They're not, sorry. Those are Red-rumped parrots or parakeets, whichever you prefer. A male and female pair.

How beautiful Birdy is! I just love fluffy wet conures! Lol.

I'm in love with Australia. Have been since I was a kid. I hope to go one day. And my name is Lori. So going to Australia with my GCC and being in the park with Lorikeets would make my millennium! How lucky you are!

Oh haha my bad! i googled bourke's and it brought up this exact pic(first one) actually so i don't know what went wrong haha but thanks for correcting i was half right! haha :54:

Lol. No problem. I was just like..uhhhhh, pretty sure Burke's are pink. :-)

They kinda have the same body and head shape and what not but a different color from what i can tell lol

And that tree hole seems to be very popular spot with the different parrots:) makes me wanna move there haha

A lot of the birds commonly known (even if not properly known as) grass parakeets look a LOT alike. It can be hard to tell them apart unless you're super familiar with them!
