Things have been a bit crazy in my world. Some of you may remember back around Thanksgiving I posted about the property I manage being up for sale and some prospective buyers touring it.

The offer was made and accepted, I was told a couple weeks ago to get ready for the closing to happen late February, so we should have had about 5 or 6 weeks to get ready.

I had a meeting with the new management company and they made me a very good offer to stay on and work for them. The company I had been working for really only had one property I could transfer to and I would have taken a significant pay cut and added the maintenance duties to my work load. I chose to accept the offer from the new company.

Got a call early last week that they were hoping to close last Friday, then they pushed it back to this Tuesday, then it didn't happen. On Wednesday morning I was told they wouldn't close until Thursday or even Friday, then a couple hours later got a call that they had closed the deal! Talk about feeling like a yo yo!

The old company had locked me out of their systems on Monday (no one bothered to tell the IT guy to hold off a few days and he thought it had closed last Friday) Since it was going to close within a few days he refused to let me back into the system! OK, people are paying their rents but I can't deposit them or post them in the accounting system??? I couldn't do any leasing or lease renewals, no notices, nothing!

The new company didn't have all the rent rolls or other information, or control of the property so they couldn't do anything but wait. Now that they do have control it's been a scramble for everyone to get everything up and running on such short notice. Of course they also use TOTALLY different systems for EVERYTHING! I have had my head in training manuals all day and my ear is bruised from being on the phone so much!

I don't think I've made much progress, but I have strained my eyes, killed my back & hips from sitting so long, bruised my ear with the phone on my shoulder while I type, and royally pissed Zilla off! She hasn't had hardly any Mommy time for the last few days and she is letting me know how "displeased" she is with me. Morning "coffee" time is all we've had the last few days, I drink my coffee and she eats her breakfast while we "chat" then in the evening I give her dinner while I keep working and by the time I can sit and relax she is wanting to go to sleep. :( Sunday can't get here fast enough! Sunday I am all Zilla's for the whole day!

Congrats on the pay raise and new position! Take a deep breath, from what I have seen here you are one sharp cookie and will have the new system down in no time.

Zilla will come around once things get back to a normal routine, she loves you, that's the great thing about animals, they forgive!:D

Thanks! It's exciting, but a bit weird at the same time. Same office, same furniture, different bosses & systems... Not sure how many times I dialed my old boss instead of the new one today! Good thing the old one likes me! He had tears when he brought me my final check this morning (so did I) it was a real bittersweet moment.

Zilla does still love me, she shows me during our "coffee" time in the mornings. She just gets upset with me in the afternoons when I can't do our usual Mommy time... I will make sure we get to start doing that again soon!

Well, I'm glad that you didn't have to move. I bet it won't take long for them to get their act together and for you to become familiar with the new sytems and then every day will be

ZILLA DAY!

Wow, congratulations! Very busy right now, sounds like you're being run ragged! Hopefully everything settles down soon so you can start doing your "real" job again........spoiling Zilla!:D

Congratulations on the new job and pay raise, Amanda! It sounds like a chaotic transition with the new management, but I know you will adjust and have everything running smoothly very soon. Zilla adores you, she will be happy to forgive you.

Congratulations Amanda! I'm sure all will be running smoothly in no time. It's always the hardest at the beginning of a new job, or transition to new systems in the same industry. Good luck :)

Congratulations Amanda! I'm so glad you got to stay AND get a better deal! [emoji41] I have no doubt you'll be a pro with the new systems in no time!

I bet Zilla will be ecstatic to have some mommy time! Lots of treats, snuggles, and bribery ;) she will forgive you!

Amanda - I did miss you and I did forget about the property changing owners. I'm so glad that things worked out for you and I pray that things continue to go well for you. Now that things have settled down - yeah right - I think it's time for a new fid for you. :D

LOL Well I must admit I too was thinking well with a pay raise maybe she will be able to swing that Green boy who likes her so much! ;) I didn't want to be pushy but really thinking about it due to Zilla's sensitive lungs and I can relate to that an eclectus really would be the best choice, no dust at all with them.:D

So glad you get to transfer! Hope the new company treats you well and I'm sure that sweet little Zilla will forgive you:)

The little green guys name is Tiki, not sure I would keep that name he doesn't seem to know it. I did get to visit him for a little while (not nearly long enough) yesterday. Zilla was almost out of her seed mix so I had to run really fast, but couldn't stop in without saying HI to him. He is young, his hatch date was 8/2013. Of course he had to be all sweet and cute, gave me another sunflower seed and kissed my nose!

I'm taking Zilla in for a pedicure on Monday so we will see how they might get along??? And I will talk to Brian and see what kind of deal I might be able to make on him.

Go for it, Amanda! Never mind yourself.... just know you are doing it for Zilla and "Tiki!" :D

Eclectus are such darn wonderful birds! :) I hope you get him!

Amanda, that's wonderful news! Good Luck! I hope everything works out so the little guy can come home with you.
