I fell head over heals in love with a 6 month old female lion head rabbit that I saw a few weeks ago. I have thought about her constantly, wishing I could bring her home...well, I brought her home today!!!...yeah, like I need more animals, but I just couldn't help myself:p

she is the sweetest, and calmest bunny, and so very very fluffy, she is so soft you just want to squish your toes in her:eek::rolleyes:

I didn't want to buy a new cage etc.... so I converted Ninjas old cage into a rabbit cage. we laid it on it's side, made a few adjustments and set it up in my daughters room.:D

We have had other rabbits before but were super hyper and didn't work out for one reason or another.... but this one is soooo calm, loves to be held, and I am so in love!!!

We named her Oreo.

Haha, how clever! I was going to say, be weary of the bars on her feet, but you even put a towel down!

I guess she's a house rabbit then? I have two, I think they're fantastic! :D Congrats on your new addition. If you've got any rabbit-y questions, feel free to ask here too! ;)

thanks!, I noticed on one of your posts today you have bunnies , I'm in a total melt down with this one, I just can't explain it.

we just gave her some carrots, broccoli, celery, and a bit of a green pepper.....already spoiled:D

We had a dutch female, Annie she passed away 3 months ago, a French Lop called Bigfoot and after Annie passed, we got him another friend, an English Spot named Poppy! :)

Bunnys are fantastic, you're going to have an absolute blast! :D

hey didn't you post something about that?....I recall reading something about your rabbit passing, and the name big foot rings a bell.

right now my daughter is combing her, I can quickly see this rabbit becoming hers, lol

Yeah we did and so I'm going to suggest getting here wormed asap because of that ;). Don't want to make this a big Annie post, but she was the sweetest bun I've ever had. She resides on our fireplace now with her favourite toy nearby. :)

We had her on her own for about a year and she became incredibly bonded to us all. Grooming is good, I hope you all enjoy her! Would love updates! :)

Hey Crimson, you know rabbit poop is the best thing to grow fishing worms in ! ! !

can you tell me more about getting de-wormed?? I have Ivermectin here, would that work, we were going to give her some to prevent any critters, ear mites etc.... it's what I give my birds so it's harmeless

Oh my how adorable!!!!!

I absolutely love rabbits, and just my luck being in queensland we arent allowed them :31:

Went to sydney last year, for this big expo, and there were rabbits, so you can imagine i spent most of my time cuddling with them.. There was this little white and grey one... Was absolutely adorable.. Mum said if we were driving back home she would of tried to sneak it across, but we were flying.. damn HAHA

Congrats on your new addition :D
and awesome idea on the cage!

well that just stinks, not allowed rabbits, that's just mean!
....too bad you couldn't put it in the overhead compartment, lol, just kidding:rolleyes:

as for the cage, it was just sitting here empty since I had to re-home Ninja, and I didn't want to spend more money on yet another cage, so I started thinking outside the box;) it worked out really really well.

I dont even understand why Queensland wont let them, even though every other state allows them! They think they will become a pest or over breed, but if you got a permit saying that you will not release this animal into the wild, you would think they would let you have one :31:

Hahahahaha I am sure he could of fit in my carry on bag, i have a feeling i would of beeped as i went through the security scanner :09: :54:

By the sounds of it, Oreo wont be spending much time in her cage anyway, will always be getting cuddles ! ;)

Very adorable! Love your creative use of the cage!

Hey Crimson, you know rabbit poop is the best thing to grow fishing worms in ! ! !

no I didn't know that!, yuck, but I know we'll have plenty of it:rolleyes:

Your 'yuck' was my gas & hamburger money when I was in high school & with the popularity of fishing, it could be a nice side business, with the only overhead being your delivery containers.....I used to use 12oz paper cups for 50 worms...they didn't have 20oz cups back then, at least I don't remember them.....

Just thought you might like some extra rabbit pellet $$$.....don't mix up your pellets with your bird's, if you use similar.....

that image was 'yucky' to me cause I was thinking of the poor worms who have to crawl around in poop, lol.

great that you use poop and turn it into $$$$, I shall pass it on in the future if I come across someone who may be interested.
where we live, we are right by a very nice lake(Lake Simcoe) it is a tourist area for avid fisherman, many come up from the U.S. to come here and fish, I just might consider it Weco, and turn my rabbits poop into $$$$:D

Hm, for some reason, Ivermectin makes me think 'unsafe for rabbits' for some reason. Will double check on that but Pancure is usually the 'go to' for our rabbits. Do you have that where you are?

Our bunnies hated it, but we had it done. We don't "regularly" worm our buns as they're not ever outside (only got a small yard :() and so we just did it when we brought them home/if we saw any sign of worms.

Good luck with your buns. Make sure you get Oreo vaccinated too! :)

Wish we could do something with our bunnys poop! Just gets binned, wish we could use it as fertaliser or something!

I'll research Ivermectin, just to make sure it's safe, if not, when I get some cash I'll take her to the vets...we have an excellent exotics animal clinic in Toronto(Links Rd.animal clinic) they are known all over Ontario, 90% of the animals are exotics, rarely do you see a cat or dog there.

Aw, i wanted a bunny like that when i was a teenager. Then when we went to buy one, there was an unwanted albino dwarf who seemed sad, in a little cage by the front door, "free with donation to rescue". I decided to take him instead. Although i am glad i took my little guy, i still see these adorable bunnies and think "AW! i want one!"

Good luck with him!
