From time to time since Harley arrived, I've offered him shallow water dishes to try out for bathing, but he's never taken to them. I've heard that some Zons don't like water, so I thought that was the case with him...until today.
I brought a squirt bottle home to try out on my yappy puppy to see if I can train her not to be so vocal. I decided to turn the nozzle to mist, sprayed it above Harley's cage, and BAM! Immediate positive reaction from Harley! He spread out his beautiful wings, soaking up every droplet that floated down, and cupped his wings forward while I misted his back. He hung upside down from his orb, looking very much like a happy bat and flapped away.
I'm feeling so guilty that I'd never tried misting him with water until now. I don't think I've ever seen Harley so happy. Right now he's preening and doing the Amazon purr.
I hope he forgives me for depriving him these past 6 weeks.
