I'm sorry to hear of Jenna's passing. Those who say "it was only a bird" have never shared their lives with one. I don't say "owned one", because I don't actually believe we ever "own" a bird or animal except, perhaps, in the legal sense. I have 16 rescues in my home, and I don't own them, but rather choose to share my home and life with them.
They are every bit as much part of the family as a human relative, and deserve the same respect. The difference is that they are, for the most part, defenseless, and need our care and love to survive. I consider it a privilege to do so, and feel it deeply when I lose one.
I share your grief, as do so many here who have gone through this. I've gone through a difficult time the past couple of years, having lost several of my furred and feathered life mates. I've shed a great deal of tears recently.
You gave Jenna a loving home, and filled her life with joy. Every day she was with you, she shared in your love and happiness. Take heart knowing her days were happy ones, and her life was as good as it could possibly have been.
Take care, my friend, and shower your remaining flock with love and kindness.
