Juliette is home! (Lineolated Parakeet)

Yesterday Juliette was all squirrely so I took her in the bedroom which is safe for her to fly around in, but what she really wanted to do was complete her hour long beauty routine while sitting on me. I never realized how noisy preening can be when it's done at close range:p. She's definitely on her way to becoming a velcro bird. I am hoping once she is recall trained she will be able to safely fly free in the main house, but right now we are packing and organizing and I'm afraid she might get lost in a box or under a shelf etc. Also there are a few poisonous plants here which she can't go near, as she eats any kind of leafy green without hesitation. Thankfully the weather has been beautiful and she was able to get a good amount of outside time on the deck. I wheel her cage around to whatever room I'm in, and she enjoys a lengthy breakfast in the bedroom on top of her cage.

I'm not sure if I am happy or not because Nameliss prefers to walking and climbing. It's not uncommon in a CAG.
Linnies often prefer walking but so far Juliette has flown more. She really gets up some speed in the bedroom. She started recall training this morning as she now knows the basics of target training!

You can't have any houseplants in the room where she lives. So many are toxic. You read about the member who lost both of her linnies hours after eating a houseplant!
I never had to really worry about it with Ollie but I don't trust this birdie for even a second. She could fly up there and start eating before I get across the room. We are moving soon though so things will hopefully get rearranged in a safer way at the new house.
