Well, off the bat we got her in a carrier full of spider webs, holes in the plastic, and no perch. She was covered with feces. We put her in our carrier and brought her home. She immediately stepped up for me and my boyfriend. We tried to clean her but she was scared of the towel. She smells and her poop smells bad. It also is green and the liquid around it is green. You can see the shaft of her large feathers and her back is naked and looks to have a blister on it. Her front is naked and she looks really bloated. I don't think it's normal. She looks really fat. This is going to be a bumpy ride. She ate blueberries, corn, and peas. She is at home relaxing in her new cage now.

Has she had a recent vet visit because I'd say she needs one asap, especially if she's got blisters and her stools being runny etc. Plus with her being fat she might have liver problems which would be best checked by a vet too.

Hope all goes well, send pictures! ;)

i would say vet asap -i think i missed it but what type of parrot is she

She has yellow right above her beak, and on the nape of her neck. Maybe a yellow crowned mixed with a yellow nape? She has a vet appointment for Saturday. That was when our avian vet was available. Good appetite and friendly though.

First , thank you for rescuing her. Second , good luck with the vet visit.
It sounds like her last home wasn't even close to normal.
What a shame , poor baby :(. Im glad you have her now , what's her name ?
Keep us posted on her checkup and maybe we can see some pictures after
she setted in.

Poor baby:( I bet she is happy to be in her new home.

Awwwww what a sweet baby!! I am glad you are taking such good care of her!! She is definitely a plucker, but maybe with a lot of TLC that will change. You never know for sure if you can cure the plucking, but sometimes just getting in a new home with good care, lots of toys and lots of love and attention does the trick. Hope all goes well with her. Thanks for sharing the pictures. She looks very pretty, even with the plucking!!! It is a great thing you are doing by taking her in and caring for her!!! She needed you.

Thanks Mozzie!!!! I'm hoping we are just what she needed too. Does she look overweight to you?

Maybe a little. It is a common problem with Amazon's. (which I am sure you already know since you have Amazon's). I am sure getting her on a good diet will take care of that. Her eye's look really good and healthy. It is so sad when you see such a beautiful parrot that has not been treated the way she deserves. You can take a lot of satisfaction in the way you are helping her!!! I am sure you are exactly what she needed!!!!

She is a round little thing, what was her diet before?

She does look a little chubby, but I wouldn't say bloated.

She's cute either way

She has an absolutely adorable face!

Maybe her stools are from the poor diet she was getting? If everything was as bad as you described, I highly doubt she had the best diet in the world.

Awww , she's a cutie :). I have to say , she looks happy in these pictures.
She is probably sooo relieved to be with you :)

She is a little darling and will settle down soon.
So happy she is with you, her life is about to change forever
:)

Thank you all! Today is day two. She is climbing all over the cage, eating some pellets, and enjoying the sun :) She is a very gentle bird, someone loved her before. We want to remind her what being loved feels like. She is in quarantine in a quiet peaceful room :) we couldn't bear to leave her to get passed around to someone else.
