alexandrines : Oxy, Bruno, prince (was princess)
i am so happy bruno is home.

im currently sitting in the lounge room in silence as the birds are all playing nicely. Oxy is sitting quietly on the jungle cage staring at me occasionally breaking out in excited chatter, bruno is on the play gym destroying all the lovely wood toys and prince is flying around from here there and every where. when prince does stop his flying he starts talking and making all his sounds and bruno copies him, its like a chorus.
i just love it, every thing is right now.

i still cant believe how lucky i am when it comes to my birds.
2 weeks after bringing oxy home he escapes, but thx to my local fire brigade i get him back the next morning.
about a month or so later oxy escapes again to be found in the neighbours back yard 3 days later.
then bruno, escapes and after 2 weeks i get him back. during those 2 weeks we had some terrible weather, gale forced winds and heavy rain along with a few thunderstorms and omg, so many hawks flying around. i feared the worse.

i hope i never have to go thru that pain again, somehow i dont think ill be that lucky next time.

just a few more pics of my babies.

I'm so happy to hear he was returned home safe and sound. I remember once the door flew open with a gust of wind (guess it wasn't shut properly) and my moms zon Barney flew right out. Thank god there was a big row of thick shrubs in front of it, because he flew right into one in his panic and got stuck (we were easily able to remove him ourselves and bring him back in). I remember how my heart dropped when he whooshed past my head and out the open door. I cannot imagine loosing a bird overnight, let alone for weeks. You are extremely lucky. I really hope you consider either clipping or doing whatever renovations/habits are needed to make sure your birds cannot escape again!

Really happy to hear that bruno is back safe and sound. Having a missing featherhead isnt something i'd wish on anybody.

I have to be so careful because I both live on the 22nd floor and in a foreign country where I can't really communicate with people so i think if Tango got out he'd be gone forever. Basically have to make sure that no windows are ever open.

I don't know what it is about alexandrines, they just look like they always have this big grin on their face.

So glad to hear your bruno came home

I wont clip them as i love watching them fly around during the day chasing each other and love it even more when they fly to me. when they do that i know its because they want to be with me and not because they have to.
The day bruno escaped him and prince had chewed thru the screen on the window. when i seen this they were both sitting on the window pain (louvered window) i slowly walked over to them and asked them to step up, prince immediately turned around to do so and as he did, his tail pushed bruno off.

i had only had these 2 just over a month and bruno was still warming up to me and his new home, but woukd step up.
I have started on recall training with prince and oxy (started in bruno's absence) prince is doing well, but as oxy isnt quite fully flighted yet he is not confident landing on such a small area as my finger or arm so his is much slower. i am trying to work with bruno also now he is home but it seems i need to gain his trust again as he wont step up.
on top of intence training i have now put aviary mesh over my windows (my lounge room is now an avairy).

How did you get him back? So happy for you :D

Never mind mind I found the original post, this is such great news!
