This is my new boy Keavi, he is 15 years old.

Ooh Keavi is GORGEOUS. I really love the look of a Timneh! Love that dark charcoal/white with pink beak and maroon tail :) You can really see some personality too.

Keavi is stunning! Is he a TAG then? Looks like you really lucked out on adopting this beautiful boy:) At 15, he is still a pretty young bird, given the larger parrots can live as long as we do. He looks like he is settling in quite well too. He's playing, confident enough to come out of his house and explore.... I bet with some time and patience, he's going to be a really good companion bird.

He is beautiful !! He looks like he is settling in just fine.

Hello, Keavi is BEAUTIFUL it looks like he's adjusting great!!

Caution: birds can get poisoned and die from metal bells, remove it if you don't know what it is made of (even ones sold by pet stores can be poison)

Not worth having

wow! So cool! I agree, Tenmehs are SUCH cool looking birds. They can have very intense lilac iridescence

I didn't know that! I figured if the pet store sold it then it was okay... but then again, they sell seed feed full of sunflower seeds and peanuts, so I guess I have to do my research! Thank you for the warning! It's one of his favorite things to carry around. He scoops his food into it and eats out of it, then washes it off after. I will have to find him something else with the same shape.

Yes, he is a TAG, and thank you!

I forget if it is "tin" or some other metal BUT one of the members here told us they lost a bird to metal poisoning from a bell sold by the company that sells King's cages

My understanding is the only real safe metal is stainless steel

It is absolutely adorable though !!
