So I hope it's okay, I thought I would start a thread of updates with pictures, and update it each week for awhile to have a record of their changes:)

I am going to start with the pic from last week of each, and then add the ones from today.
They are loving their mistings, and eating the veggies like little piglets:) They are now tolerating me and don't really react to me being with them, unless I have the camera. Cally doesn't mind, but Ki hates it and growls at me, while hunching down:( My husband hasn't spent much time with them yet so they are quite nervous around him so far, which we have to work on.

So this is last week:
Cally

I am so excited to watch them bloom. So far it is baby steps, but even a little progress is exciting:)

Aww, sweet little guys Terry!! Their facial expressions are adorable :) Good work! Looks like they're settled in their new home and are finding what it's like to be happy thanks to you.

Awww, how great to see them blossom!! I can already see an improvement in their condition. You're doing great work there, Terry!

I think a thread to keep track of progress is a super idea!

Hey, Terry! I think that a weekly update of Ki and Cally's progress is an excellent idea! I'm looking forward to watching them bloom with you!

I just noticed, though, the patchy area on the back of Ki's head. Hadn't noticed the first time I looked at his pics. Could that be from a rough molt? Poor diet? (Pre Terry, of course!) Or could Cally be plucking his feathers as well as her own?

I think that Cally was plucking him on top of his head. The good news is I have only found 3 or 4 down feathers in the cage, so I don't think they are plucking right now - fingers crossed:)

Thanks everyone for the encouragement...I feel like I can see a difference, but wasn't sure if it was just wishful thinking:)

You see a little extra confidence in their facial expressions just a week later. It will be so great to watch their progress!

Love the updates! You have such a big heart to give these guys the home they deserve.

Those beautiful, beautiful birds! I'm so glad they met you, Terry! I think we're all going to be following their progress with great interest. :) Just imagine the huge unhappiness that causes a bird to pluck out its own feathers. And now imagine the huge change these guys are seeing in their lives thanks to our Terry. Good on you all and keep the updates coming!!! :)

How are these guys ? :)

They are doing good, thank you so much fro asking:) Their week 2 pictures are not a lot different from week 1, but they are a little fluffier:)

ki looks so soft!!! i want to just snuggle him, but i dont think he'd like that lol

Yea, he is kinda ornery. He is getting better about letting me in the cage though. He is looking a lot softer than he was. They are getting the aloe baths 3 times a week now.

Thanks for the update, Terry! The baths alone must have these guys feeling like they're in Heaven! And even though it's only been a week, I do indeed see the extra fluffiness. Sweet!

Thanks Stephen, it's good to know it's not just in my mind..lol.

You can start to see a different look in their eyes :)

Looking Good!!!! Awesome idea! I will be looking forward to their beautiful little faces, and to seeing them blossom!

Terry, they are looking great! You're doing a great job.

One question tho, you mentioned sometime about the person you got them from had more in the same shape as these two were. Have you thought about turning them into the local animal control/humane society? It seems that the way he treated them should be classified as abuse to me. Not sure what the laws are up there, just curious.

I think it's a great idea to have weekly updates with photos I look forward to seeing them. They do seem more relaxed.

The photos are very telling about the excellent new lives you have given these two special birds!!! It's not your imagination or wishful thinking. They do look fluffier and the expressions on their faces are so inquisitive. Great job, Terry. It's wonderful to see the improvement so soon.
