Thanks! We went with "P" names. Pasquale, Priscilla, Piedmont, Penelope etc :)

NNNNNAAAAWWWW!!!! :smile015: Way to go, Sugar! Another BEAUTIFUL buckling!!! :D

I'm hesitant to say FOR SURE but I think my other doe is "getting close"? lol This thread started with me waiting for Sugar remember!! Then kidding season is done until July

I love baby goats! Actually I love goats and most baby animals. A lot.

I have three goats. One I would never breed, one I would breed if I needed another animals (which I dont) and one that my newfound friend bred and he would usually end up in a freezer but my vet put me in contact with her when one of my horses needed a stall companion. I've since sold the horse but kept buckles. :)

I have two mares due to foal late May early June and while I'm starting to get excited... It's so much work. :)

Brandy kidded this morning and had a beautiful little doeling.

And Brandy

That finishes up kidding season for now. lol one of those happy/sad moments for me. I always look forward to kidding season and finding these little sweethearts. It always makes my day :) However I can now look forward to the months ahead of watching them grow up and establish their place in the herd (I'm keeping the 2 doelings) I've had so much fun sharing these new additions with you all, I'll have to take updated pictures so you can see what they look like later on. Thank you everyone!

Oh my gooooosh, Melissa, she's such a pretty girl!! Sorry...doeling. :D

I just want to scoop her up and smooch her all over. So, since you're keeping the does, do you have names picked yet? :D

I can't wait to see pictures as these beauties grow!

Brandy is such a pretty goat! What is her color called? And the doeling looks just like Mama, right, except she has that white marking on her forehead. I'm sure there's an appropriate name for that white marking. :32:

The color is called chamois, not sure if there is a special name for the facial marking. I named the one black moon spotted doeling Gracie, still thinking on a name for Brandy's baby though. Brandy is an Oberhasli/Nubian cross btw :)

Melissa, look (you may have seen this already). I so thought of you when I found this. :D Well...not you, but your pretty goats.

How talented! lol they can balance on anything! Thanks for sharing Wendy!!

Such beautiful little 'kids' Melissa :). I can see how this season would be exciting for you!

Oh Wendy :18: That video had me busting up! So funny!!

Melissa, can I bug you?? How are all the kids doing? Do you have some pics to share....pretty pretty pleeeease? :D

Adorable video, Wendy! Watching goats play goes well with coffee.

Melissa, please, we need more photos!

All of the kids are doing great! They're really enjoying the beautiful spring temps and soaking up the sun :) They are now able to be out in their yard every day (when it's nice out). Can't wait till I can turn them out in the pasture so they can munch on green grass. Once the ground isn't so soft I need to take a day and fix the fence (the stakes tipped over, insulators need adjusting/replacing and all that good stuff

Here's one of the bucklings taking it easy

Here's a pic of them out and about

A friend gave me a doeling to raise and I was able to get Brandy to foster her for me

Everyone, meet Heidi :D

First night she spent in the house

Can I be your guy's friend??

Just being cute

Pic that was sent to me asking if I wanted her................Ummmmm, YES??!!!:D

Heidi's mom had triplets and couldn't take care of them all :) Heidi also has what is called a "parrot mouth". It doesn't affect her though! Here's some more pics :)

Cuddle time!

Is that a bottle you're holding??!! (I bottle fed her for a day or so)

And a pic that my friend sent of her and her siblings

Brandy was most cooperative once grain was offered

WO-HOOOOO!!! Thank you so much, Melissa!! :D

Helloooooo Heidi!! :smile015: IMPOSSIBLE to turn away such a cutie pie! That is so awesome that Brandy is fostering her. What a good, sweet Mama!! :)

Holy smokes, they are growing FAAAST. They all look so happy, healthy, and definitely MUCH loved (and perhaps a wee bit spoiled???) :D

Wait...what? Heidi's mom had TRIPLETS? FAINT! What's parrot mouth?

I was thinking last night that I should update you guys!

What? My goats? Spoiled?? NEVER!:D I've no idea where you got that idea from Wendy:54:

Triplets aren't uncommon for goats, 2 is the norm but I've had does that had quads too. I end up bottle raising some of them at that point though.

Heidi's lower jaw doesn't line up with her upper. If you look at her pictures closely I think you can see it. If not let me know and I'll post better pictures:)

Thank you for explaining it, Melissa. Yes, I 'think' I can see it slightly. Heidi's upper jaw goes too far over her lower jaw, right? Will she outgrow it? Will it even matter?

I swear, I had no idea goats can have 3-4 babies (at one time). How often do they require bottle feeding?

Now please pardon my next question: Do you milk your goats? Do you make goat cheese? :D (YUMMY)

She may outgrow it, it doesn't seem to bother her at all and she is nibbling at hay now too. Her's is a result of an accidental inbreeding (not the breeders fault) those bucks can be quite the handful when in rut

I bottle feed 5 times a day (couple ounces each feeding when they're really young) Some people feed twice a day, (large amounts each feeding) but I figure that I'm home anyway, why not? Besides I go down to the barn at LEAST that often, might as well carry a couple of bottles with me ;)

Yes, I milk my goats. I've made cheese, the soft cracker spread kind. I'd like to tackle the hard cheeses this summer if possible. Also have made yogurt, ice cream and butter. Fresh goat milk is AWESOME
