Ruby female Ekkie
OH my gosh ! Kira got a new friend this weekend !! A female eclectus !! Defiantly one of the weirdest meeting I have ever had . So the ppl that babysat the bird for the owner would not let me in their house . I had to meet the bird in a dog cage outside ! I kept saying this is so unfair she totally out of sorts anyhow I put the cage in the backseat of my truck opened it and she came right out later because the windows in back are tinted I sat with her in the front . Placed her on the stirring wheel and when I ask her to step up she gladly did then stayed in the bend of my elbow close to my body . she was content . The owner Dave met me at the "bird sitters" was very nice I don't know what was going on in his life that this bird was tossed from house to house to baby sit . Ruby was at that location then prior in another place before that and at his sons for a week before that :( The videos I received was also just this small dog cage with the parrot sitting on top speaking . I was highly suspicious this bird might have been stolen ! It wasn't so David had all the paperwork he wasn't sure about her hatch date he said he bought her about a year ago. Ruby's hatch date is 11/17/2018 it was written on her folder ,sales receipt was in his name ring number all was there and he even kept her wing clippings . So Ruby is only a baby ! I was torn at first to take her did not want another parrot that won't like me . I also wanted the bird to have a better home and a stable enviroment . I took the chance and what a wonderful parrot she is !! Only thing wrong with her are over grown nails and she has a offensive dirty odor on her which has subsided some since picking her up and having a shower hehehe will send a pic later !

Congratulations! How exciting!
Many people have lost their jobs and their homes with this pandemic , it could be something like that.. or divorce.

First off, THANK YOU for taking in a sweet baby girl in need of a stable life! I'm a huge fan of rescues, and have great respect for folks who step up. Sometimes, whether you planned for it or not, one comes along that's just meant to be. Yep, I have my second bird solely because she found me, and decided it was going to happen. I was powerless against her charm!

Second, I can't wait to see her pictures! Ekkie girls are truly striking. Never had one, only boys. Opportunity to have a girl just never came up, and I love my guy's personality so much. The girls are... Different. Not worse, or better, just different. Totally different agenda, and every bit the diva. :)

Looking forward to hearing about your journey as she settles in.

ETA: Thank you for sneaking the picture in while I was writing. She's gorgeous!

Stunning, obviously cared for well before circumstances changed, and they chose well in you being the new mamma.
May she have a happy long life with you
