Letting Kiwi try a smoothie was kind of like handing a grizzly bear a human arm- probably not the best idea, as he shall likely want whatever we have in a cup from this day forward-

Hey there, didn't anyone ever tell you sharing is caring-

So how does this thing work? Do I eat the finger or the cup?

Ah, I stick my little head in the cup-

This new taste, and texture, it is, it is *DELICIOUS*

Alrighty then, I shall rudely stick my entire, creepy worm-like tongue in here and just drink it up like the ravenous smoothie-thirsty monster I am-

P.S.- The smoothie was homemade with just bananas, strawberries and yogurt, which are 3 of his favorite foods anyways:green:

LOL a human arm! Kiwi is a hoot! Looks like he enjoyed the smoothie, this better now be on the menu often!

My partner was feeding Tater little bits of smoothie from the end of his straw. Tater grabbed the straw, flew up to the top of the doorframe with it, and turned it over and over again trying to figure out how the mysterious "smoothie dispenser" works and why it wouldn't dispense any more deliciousness for him:)

Kiwi looks like he loved that! (Looked good to me as well) Talli loves drinking out of my glass, even if it just water..I bet he would go CRAZY for that smoothie:)

Pecker (my BFA) used to love to share my mango smoothies, to the point of being a pest.

I miss that... !

Ha! Typical amazon! GIMME IT, THAT'S MINE...

Anything to do with food and Kiwi is a pest, and we may have unintentionally made him bother us about drinks now too:52:. Haven't eaten a meal at home without him since we got him. It's always fun explaining to guests why the resulting tantrum from NOT joining us will be *so* much worse than just allowing the little winged demon at the table:smile039:

Hahaha! You will never drink in peace from a cup again! Look at his eyes in the 3rd pic from the top! Crazy eyes! Lol! He is fiending for that smoothie!

I hate to be a "party pooper" but back when i was younger, i had lots of friends who lost their pet birds to tall drink glasses. They fall in and drown in the glass. Please don't "feed" your parrot from a glass.

I do understand the concern here, especially for those with small birds like budgies or flighted birds around big cups like those big gulps or something, but we have juice glasses that are only about 4" high and Kiwi is constantly supervised when out. I don't know that his whole head could fit in that glass, let alone him fall in. And in our home, open sources of water/liquid aren't just left lying about unattended or are covered (like the toilet). I do know open water sources are a major concern, but I have to respectfully disagree here because I don't personally feel this was a dangerous situation for Kiwi. Obviously common sense should always been used with birds when assessing potential risks, but sipping from a tiny juice glass held by my husband with 2 people supervising just wasn't a risk to his safety here.

I didn't mean to imply you where doing anything wrong. Just a warning to folks viewing the thread. It's pretty sad to find a zon drown in a drink glass after a party.

OMG LOL, that is so cute!! GREAT pics

Like Birdman, I miss my Zon doing this, it got to the point where I would have to have a cup at my computer with his drink

He would sit on my shoulder while I worked on the computer and as soon as I took a drink would come over to my mouth and try to squeeze into my cup (there is a pic in my sig and one of my photo albums)

Thanks for a FUN Post !!

Joe

Kiwi sure enjoyed it and it showed
Looks great for human consumption as well
Sure you are keeping him safe while drinking from the glass

Thanks for sharing

I guess I have been around birds so long, it's second nature not to leave any kind of liquids around that isn't covered or supervised deep enough he could drown in it. But it is a hazard I'm sure some people don't realize exists. You still hear of birds drowning in toilets or flying into pots of boiling water from time to time too, because the owner never thought about the potential risk.

Cute! I always love reading Kiwi's commentary too... :)

I keep coming back to this post because the pictures and captions make me smile so much:)
