My husbands brother is visiting, and since Joe had to work all day, we decided (me and his brother) to go into downtown Portland to grab lunch and see a free concert in a park.
SOMEONE totally suckered me into not leaving him at home with a series of nice "hellos" as we walked out the door
So I put him in his bird backpack and brought him along. I was slightly afraid of how he'd react to being on the train, but he was a champ! Preened the whole way and made happy little tail shakes and feather fluffs. I was also concerned how he'd react to a BUSY area (he's only been out and about in relatively quiet scenarios), but he was super excited to be in the downtown district, and (unfortunately) drew quite a bit of attention to himself. Not that he was being bad, but I think most people don't expect to see parrots out, especially a big brightly colored one in a backpack:52:
He did enjoy the music (by dancing in his carrier), fresh air and of course sharing my lunch (i.e. eating all the corn off my salad like a big green pigeon)! Best of all, by the time we got home, the little guy was all tuckered out and happy to nap the rest of the afternoon until my hubby got home. Unfortunately, I only had my phone and not my real camera, so I can't seem to get the pictures off the phone and onto the computer
I promise he was quite adorable though!
