who's birds like laying on their backs? and what age did they start?

My previous baby cosmo loved being on his back and he was much cuddlier than fidget from a young age.
Fidget is not such a back bird yet and is cuddly but not as cuddly as cosmo was. I know all birds have their diff personalities. just wondering if there is a chance that fidget will still come to do it?

Mango used to allow it, didn't much care for it. Haven't done it for a while. I will have to try again. He likes to hang upside down.

I've seen videos of it but unfortunately my little sun conure Cisco won't have any part of it..lol. He is a very good little bird:p...but not very cuddly. He was 5 years old when I got him so maybe had he done it as a baby he would??? I don't know for sure...just know that he doesn't:rolleyes:

One of my sun hens, over ten years old, will let you lay her on her back & rub her tummy.....first grown bird I've ever had that really liked to do that.....being on their back is a very trusting position as it is not a natural position for a bird, though chicks will often do it.....

Hmm.. my son's GCC will lay on her back in your hand IF she is holding onto the fingers of your other hand with her feet. I don't know if she actually enjoys it, or just tolerates it, though.

My sun will do it if me or my daughter sits on the couch with her favorite blanket on our laps.

JellyBean likes being on his back when we are "wrestling"... It starts by him putting a foot on my finger and challenging me to flip him over on his back... then I tickle his tummy.. we fight.. and it starts all over again. Sometime though, when he is in cuddly humour, I flip him over and kiss his warm birdy tummy!! Lol...

mine will sleep on their back on my closet, lol:P

My sun likes to roll around and wrestle on his back with me. My male gcc used to like to do the same but he grew out of it. Both of my gccs will allow me to pull wings out and flip them over without a problem though. I flip my amazon onto his back all the time these days. My female cockatiels will allow me to grab them bodily and do whatever with them but I handraised them and they are used to me doing all kinds of things to them.... My rescue cockatoo Folger will barely allow you to look at him without him getting nervous about you coming over to murder him or something...so no rolling over for him....

My Lily let my wife put her on her back with no problem. In fact, she enjoys being on her back with wife so much, she usually closes her eyes, ruffs up her head feathers, and rubs her own head while my wife is giving her beak and neck rub. Here are some photos of a recent Saturday morning in bed. Every morning, as soon as she hears our voices, she would flies in to our bedroom greet and play with us.

Ahhh, she's so cute!!

My conure will only go on his back when he's under the covers with me in the pillow-fort I create for us. He won't do it "in public"...especially when the budgies are buzzing around, or if another person is about. But under the covers he becomes a limp, relaxed, beak-grinding zombie, and I flip him on his back and massage his cheeks. :)

Only my ysgcc likes it, and she did it from the time she went home from the pet store with her first family. My GCC Flick is learning to do it. It it takes time to learn to trust enough to be that vulnerable. Start with having him perch on your hand, and then put your other hand on his back. Then work towards tipping him, little by little each day until he is on his back, if that behavior is important to you.

Cosmo used to do it when I laid in bed. We would just play then he would flip over and pass out lol
Will try post a pic of Cosmo later. Miss that lil guy.
Hope fidget also decides to like it, but even if he doesn't I love him just as much

This was my cosmo's fav position

I have a 3 month old sun conure named Elsa and she loves laying on her back, but only for me, not for anyone else in the house. She will hold my finger roll to her back and like a cat kick at my fingers, she goes the same in her cage with her bell. If I have my arm bent across my chest she will lay on her back in m the bend of my elbow.
