We got Buddy in March 2014, and Venus 24 days ago. I'm learning Buddy is super easy. He steps up 99% of the time on command, and is very well adjusted. He stays in his cage most of the day even though his cage door is left open, he can come out when he wants.
This past week, I've noticed how energetic Venus is, it's rather scary. Like today when I opened the door to her water bowl to remove it, I left the door open. Before I could exit the office door I heard sounds, turn and see her squeezing herself through the open door and grabbing the bowl ring. Bad situation for a bird. I walked back, held the little door open to stabilize it while she continued to climb out the tiny door. Once she was out, I had her step up, then closed the little door, put her back in her cage, closed the main door while I changed out her water. She's a stinker, I love it. Is this typical behavior of young birds? Buddy is 24 yo and I'm thinking he's spoiled me!
