I've been looking around for awhile for a decent arm protector made of something sturdier than cotton that wouldn't slide around on our arm for our two arm destroyers (big macaw-power gripper, goffins pins and needles claws that never seem to stay blunted long). I came across a leather worker on ebay who had something that might work if tweaked a bit, so I contacted him about making a custom arm brace type thing that would fit anyone depending on who was doing the holding. We go on trips to another town with our macaw and carrying her around for a few hours causes arm scratches and bruises. So anyway, this is what we came up with that worked well for extended carrying or even short walks that isn't too hot, bulky, ugly, or cumbersome:
Available through this guy for around $35 (that's what he charged me anyway): foxcustomleather on eBay
It works well and seems to help the birds grip our arm better. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone looking for something like that, it really helps my mother in law who bruises really easily when she holds our birds. She used to leave our house looking like someone beat on her arms, poor dear.
