Parrots

Very dominant aggressive birds, if you have a paired couple then they can be very dangerous for other birds in your aviary.
I've had a little corella killed, 2 galahs attacked, another little corella harassed, and this has been by more than one little
corella probably male partner (over some years by 2 little corella males). Just a warning. This is a large veranda style aviary
12m*6m*6m approx. They are not breeding, there are no boxes here, specially in spring. They do kill and injure birds without
remorse.

Welcome to the forums, @stew, but I'm so sorry for the dreadful circumstances that brought you here. Sadly it certainly is true that birds housed together can be a danger to each other, irrespective of how large their cage or aviary may be, particularly when breeding season arrives. I have a mismatched "pair" who are madly in love with each other, a varied lorikeet rooster and a princess parrot hen, and even though he's a third of her size he harasses her to mate all the time when they're out of their cages and I could never house them together because he bullies her if they're locked up together. No nest boxes, no other sort of stimulus provided for them to reproduce, and the tiny little lorikeet will attack both my cockatiels if they get in the way too! Thank you for sharing your experience though, @stew, I'm terribly sorry for your loss, but in writing this you may help someone else avoid similar catastrophe. 🙏

I’m so sorry for your loss. I would be horrified finding any of my parrots that way. I hope you are able to separate your parrots to prevent further harm. Parrots can be territorial, and there are many reasons why they attack each other.
