Cinnamon green cheeked conure hatched 2/18/2025.
This afternoon Nelson (a.k.a. Little Parrot) decided that it was time for another kitchen sink shower. Here he is, sitting on the drawbridge door, drying off and looking a little uncomfortable. He enjoys taking the shower but he seems to dislike being wet when he's done.

That's cos you're posting pics of him before he has a chance to readjust his feathered suit. Give the little guy a break!! ;)

I've noticed that very young budgies' first baby feathers are not as dense and water resistant as budgies' adult plumage. When they bathe they get soaked much more easily while the water seems to just run off the older birds' feathers. This picture is of my Tiki after taking his first bath at 8 weeks old- he got completely soaked just spladhing around a bit in a shallow dish of water!

I can't remember how old Nelson is but may still be wearing his first body feathers explaining why he gets so wet when bathing. He sure is adorable all soggy like this!
