Not my bird, but lost near Castaway's restaurant on the river this morning. Anyone near Dover NH, please keep your eyes open and look up as much as possible.

I will likely leave work early today to help look. It is starting to get cold at night. Bird is only 5 months old, likely cold and scared.

I have a friend with an emailing list for many musicians locally; he is going to forward on this info to those in the Dover area.

Thank you all, There is no update on the owner's Facebook, so I am going to head over and look across the river in the wooded area. It is a Longshot I know, but even a small chance is worth the time. Poor little bird.

With such a young Parrot, look along the path, which follows the direction in which the wind has been blowing over the last 24 hours. So, if the wind has been coming out of the East, the Parrot has likely moved to the West. The distance moved after the first 50 to 150 ft will slow as the Parrot lands likely to rest.

This is from my musician-birdwatching friend, who had forwarded the info about this missing Gray onto folks on his email list in the Dover area:

Hi Jen,

I was just reading about a parrot that
a birder saw at Great Boars head in
north Hampton on the coast.
I tried to find it again but was unable.
I think it is in the NHbirdwatchers FB page.
They said they wanted to catch it but didn't
know how because they wanted to return the
poor bird to it's owner.
I will keep looking for the message and
get back to you.
Bill

I'm not sure if I posted the updated info, but there is a $500 reward for the lost bird. If the bird watchers see him, his name is Boson. Please try to catch him.

Has there been any update on this bird? I think this is crazy but I almost think I may have seen him in a tall tree behind my house yesterday. (Or was it two days ago?) I honestly -- this thread, this bird had entirely escaped my thoughts. Truly the concept that I could be looking at a not-wild bird did not even occur. But now I am wondering.

I thought it was awfully fluffy for a hawk. It was colored like an eagle... so therefore gray... and I did momentarily think that gee if it had some color it could've been a parrot. It would've been the right size. I was looking out the window. I went outside to get a better look -- I was quite a distance away, I was wishing for binoculars. Despite the distance and the height, it saw me looking, and flew away. When it flew it was certainly not a hawk. I did NOT notice a red tail, but nonetheless now I am wondering if that was him. (IF IF it was - there was not a chance of me catching him, nor even probably luring him; he was too high up and far away. (Little small birds love the yards behind my house because the interspersed tall trees make it difficult for larger birds to get down there.) Perhaps if I had remembered this thread, perhaps I could've come reminded myself of his name to call for him -- but I think he would've been gone.
