Harry my female quaker and I have been through a lot together. Sometimes I tend to take her for granted, until she reminds me how remarkable she is. She talk loud and she talks in context. Sometimes she puts words she knows together. Be A Good Boy, is one of her favorite phrases, she refuses to say girl. She also says, Thank You when I give her something, or do something for any of her house mates. She thanks me when I give the dogs a treat, open the curtains... This morning I was late with her breakfast and when I arrived with it, she was thrashing her toys and wrecking her cage. She stopped, peered into her bowl, looked up and said, Thank You, Boyeeee!!

And my other smart quaker, Zeke! Not a new photo but a favorite! Using his toy to scratch his own neck.

Both these great birds where thrown away by their previous owners, problem birds. My good fortune! They make me smile every day. The ruffles around Harry's neck make me so proud of her. She was a serious plucker when she came to me.

Allee, your Quakers are awesome! :) Harry's feathers are beautiful, and the pic of Zeke is very cute. Lucky birdies!

It's always nice to see pictures of Harry and Zeke, and to hear that they're doing well too. :)

Thanks for sharing these pics, Allee! They are beautiful, and they seem to just exude character. Plus, it's always heartening to see pics of a reformed plucker! Such a hard habit to break!

Oh Allee, Harry and Zeke look fabulous! Please give them both a big old kiss from Auntie Terry and tell them that I can't wait to meet them!

BTW, it was so funny to hear Harry's voice tonight! It is so low pitched and adorable:)

Thank you so much, Gary. It's great to hear from you! How is one of my all time favorite quakers? Please tell Ralph hello for me and give him skritches.

Thank you, Stephen! Plucking is one of the most frustrating challenges I've come across in parrot care. There's a multitude of reasons for birds to pluck and even when each of the causes are addressed there is never a guarantee they will completely stop. Harry shakes her head sometimes and says, feathers, feathers, feathers.

Ralph says hi to you and all the flock. He's doing fine. His newest game is removing spoons from the silverware drawer in the kitchen. :)

The flock says Hi back to Ralph! Ha ha, ever the gentlemen, helping with the chores. I'm curious to know what he does with the spoons once he removes them.

Zeke's become quite the builder, I moved his favorite building supplies to the bottom of his cage because he enjoys working on his projects so much.

Nice that Zeke enjoys building so much. I have to leave Ralph's sticks on the bottom of his cage too, so he can arrange them and then have me pull them apart so he can start all over again. :)

Mostly, Ralph drops the spoons on the floor or sets one down on top of the cabinet. Once in a while, he'll sit on my shoulder and hold onto it for a while, then hand it over to me. I often say to him, "you're such a big help for such a little parrot," and he nods his head in agreement. :D

They are adorable!! :-)
