I have a citron cockatoo, Umbrella cockatoo, Parakeets, Finches, Lovebirds, Cockatiels, Canaries, Sun Conures, Green Cheek Conures and planning to get a lot more!!!
So i got my lovebirds for 2 weeks already and they are doing fine. No fighting but my male keeps running away from my female. They are dna tested. The female looks like she wants to stand next to him but he keeps running away. What should i do?? They are both peachface lutino but my male has a grey tail? is this normal?? Let me know thanks

The bird is 1 yrs and 2.5 yrs

help please

maybe just give them more time when i first put my lovebirds together its was instant but i kept them in defferent cages for a few days and only allowed them to interact with eachother a few times a day and then i would separate them

I put mine together right away as well. Maybe yours are territorial over the cages because they have been seperated for a while.

some birds take time as long as there isnt any fighting you should be fine. My lovebirds bonded right away but I was lucky some dont always bond right away and it takes time.

as long as they are not fighting, just let them work this out.
my female kept doing the exact same thing, shimmying up my male, but he kept flying off or running away.
after about a month, they started doing better
I also have two lovebirds. I raised both of them. they are fine out of the cage, but I can't put them together. All they do is fight, go figure.

When i went home today they were standing next to each other and when he saw me he ran to the cage. Is he bonded with me???! He is tamed and the female isnt.

now they are chasing each other again Lol... But i think its doing good. They seen each other for a week then i put them together.

There also is a lot of chirping is that bad??

At the store the guy said he has a pair of fischer livebird. He has 2 of them and they both stand bext to each other like pairs lol. He said they were 5-6 months should i get them??

Also can i place my breeding box on the floor or do they like it high? I have a cage that is like 5 ft 7 inches so yeah. I know that parakeets and canaries like it high. I dont know about lovebirds so yeah

it depends on the birds some like it high some like it low stick with one pair at first get another later if you feel up to it. My Lovebirds personally like it high I provided them with a boot style and a normal style and they chose the normal style up high.

okay what if the birds go crazy when i put the box in

i dont think they will ive never heard of birds going crazy cause of it. but they may take a month to get used to it some of my birds have taken that long ad others just jump right in it.

I think they are somewhat getting use to each other. Like one bird is on a stick and another is on the swing thing and they look at each other and chirp. Is that good or bad? Also when will babies come? A month or two after they are bonded? I feed them fresh fruits daily

that is good progress. It may take a year for babies they are just put together.

Okay thats great!
Progress, When i got home i think i saw them kissing?
They stand on diffrent stick safe level and chirp.
Both male and female bob head
male still runs from female

So far so good??

Also jusy wondering butbif i decide to buy a 6 mo old pair from a bird store are they actually a pair or is the bird owner just trying to sell them???
