He's clearly chosen me, but he's starting to exhibit protective behavior over my son...if he squeals or cries Jackie throws a fit! He's not very fond of hubby though :/

I allow my birds on my shoulder frequently! If I do something to upset them and they lash out at my face or ear... well, poop happens! :xmas_lol2 Then again, Charlie is my largest bird who could potentially do the most damage, but can't, so I'm not really worried.

Jackie tends to nip when he's had enough of being packed around lol that was the first time he's been on my shoulder, so I felt safer with my hood up. Plus, we've only had him for 3 months now so we're still working on a lot of things

I allow Bosley on my shoulder, I know the risks.
As long as you are aware of what can happen and are prepared to deal with it. I just make a point thaat Bosley always comes off when asked to and if he is getting really excited I put him down. This only happens when he smells dinner though LOL

Yes, I'm definitely aware of the risks -especially since our relationship is still very new. He has only bit me once so far- thankfully it was just a firm warning from him and it was totally my fault. Jackie LOVES food and goes crazy if he sees me even chewing lol I give him bites as long as its 'bird safe'.

LOL @ perch potatoes!! I could see that happening though....my next project is to build him a branch jungle gym stand. I've seen how expensive java stands are, but why spend that much when I can build something in hubby's wood shop?!
Are maple tree branches bird safe? I know I'd probably have to take the bark off and bake them to kill unwanted stuff.
