The Lorikeets were so friendly! As soon as one stepped up the other three wanted to as well. Every time I walked by they wanted to step up.

Yeah, pet shop. They had them in big open glass containers.

I would have had to bring one home. lol I guess that's why I'm single. 🤣

Lol! Well I already have three dogs (did have 4) plus the two birdies, haha. If Yuri didn’t have a bunch of medical expenses I’d consider it.

Ahhh! Those lorikeets are so adorable! And the look on the gray’s face; you can just tell there’s a lot of brain behind those beautiful eyes ❤️

Those parrots in the photos are so adorable. I’d have a hard time walking away. I should probably stick to ordering online.

I’m just realizing my parrots would need a misbehaved parrot room in a pet store. They’d dive bomb customers, snip at customers, steal from customers, and be little monsters.

I’d have talked myself into another African Grey in a short time period. If it had been a Timneh there is no doubt it would have come home with me. I do plan on getting another bird if I can locate a Timneh which seems difficult.

Obviously I am partial to Greys. I avoid being in a position to get another bird. That one's expression says a lot.

He/she was sweet! Accepted a few scritchins.

We have a Petland that has a similar setup. People can go and handle the birds. THEY ARE SO CUTE! I can totally understand why you had so much trouble not bringing them home, LOL!

Where are you that has all those Lorikeets?

Pet Land. Just a random pet store I walked in while out running an errand.

Generally, I don’t like supporting the commercial sale of birds at pet stores and especially pet stores that sell puppies. But, I do love taking a peek now and then.

I went to Las Vegas in April and one of the highlights of my trip was visiting some bird stores. We don't have much here in Maine for pet stores that even sell birds much less bird stores. I knew Las Vegas being a larger city would have some bird stores to visit and I wasn't disappointed. We drove around visiting all the birds stores and saw so many beautiful, friendly birds. I got to give scritches to a young Goffin's Cockatoo that reminded me so much of my Casper I rehomed 30 years ago. He even let me give him a scritch under his wing pits as Casper loved so much and didn't even nip me! There were beautiful plum headed parakeets with their impossibly long tails, majestic macaws, amazing Amazons, cute conures and sultry CAGs. Some of the stores bred and partially hand raised their own budgies, cockatiels and GCCs. Fortunately my return flight airlines, American, didn't accept birds as passengers in the cabin so there was no temptation to take a new friend home with me!

I don't like to support the retail pet store bird trade but sometimes these shops are the only places people can go to see and sometimes touch parrots they otherwise only read about and watch videos of.
