Hello guys

My normal grey cockatiel is being aggressive to my yellow lutino cockatiel. They always have a beak fight and then after that put his beak on her neck and the female cockatiel will scream a little bit and tries to get away from him. Now my female cockatiel is scared of him if he's too close to her. Before this happened, my female cockatiel will preen my male cockatiel, but the male won't preen. Every time the female cockatiel stops he put his beak on her. They eat together. The male will call the female if they are far from each other, but I don't know why they are fighting. Oh and my male cockatiel will mount on my female but the female will try to get away from him. How can I make my cockatiel love each other?

If they're fighting they should be separated...Put each bird in a cage of its own and then put the two cages together.

How long have the two birds been together?

Are you 100% they're male and female?

How big is their cage at the moment? If their cage isn't big enough they can get on each others nerves.

Have you moved/changed their cage?

Are you sure fighting rather than breeding?

Separate them and put them in cages side by side... and get the hen checked out by a competent vet.

I have two cages together but I leave the cage's doors open.

It's been over 3 months together. The cage is 20 inch width and 26 inch height. And there is a door at the top of cage I leave it open and i have a perch up there. I've changed the cage maybe a month ago. And yes they are fighting.

Most of the time they sleep next to each other, and the male cockatiel will sometimes bang his beak on her to move.
