Huffle the grey Quaker parrot, poe the white & blue budgie, 2 breeding cockatiels

However my 2 year old male (Huffle) is not very keen on meeting as he can instantly become grumpy and highly suspicious of her anytime they come close. We have put their cages near eachother but she has no issue with him and wants very much to meet, but since she is still a baby and we don't want anyone to get injured I am not sure how to get them to get along. But we have seen a little progress and less defense in Huffle over the past few days but still not sure what to do.
