Mango sure has settled down quickly
I love his cage
When are the toys being put in the cage?, sure he would love something to play with.

Yes, Billy, where are his toys? I would also strongly recommend you remove the dowel and get him a natural perch. (MUCH better for his little feet).

He sure looks like such a sweetie! :)

He is getting some toys today. I didn't want him to be over stimulated hits first day home. I'm going to get a natural branch for him. The store was all out but will be getting them in.

My cat couldn't stop staring at him for the first few hours, now she is indifferent.

I was torn what size cage to get him. I wanted him in the living room so I got the smaller cage that fits where I want it, otherwise he would have to be in my bedroom. I think its big enough.

Here is a picture I dug up on how one of my Zon's cages is set up.

Both of mine have a minimum of 4 toys in their cages, which I rotate once or twice a week. They both have foraging toys as well, along with different perches (rope, natural wood, sisal, cholla)

Hunter's cage is 36X28 wide, and Sam's is 40X30 wide, and he uses every square inch of his cage. He is a VERY active birdy boy. :)

Does Mango have a playgym? A place to hang out away from his cage?

Now is the best time to socialize him, Billy. He is so young, and the more things and people you introduce him to, the better.

Please always be present when you cat is near the bird, accidents happen so quickly, one can never be to careful.

The cage does seem a bit too small for a zon but if he's out most of the day and only goes in for eating and sleeping, it's fine. I would put some kind of a playgym (you can make it yourself with tree branches) on top or to the side of it so he has a larger area and a place to climb, swing, etc

One thing to keep in mind is Mango is quite a bit smaller than your average Amazon. I definitely wouldn't of put a blue front Amazon in that cage.

I always let my birds out and the cage is just a place to stay while I'm out. Today he was climbing all over his cage exploring.

I will eventually make a play gym for him, this is where I get to be creative.

I picked up one toy do far, he will be getting more.
