Wow,

Max is really growing quickly, lots of feathers compared to the last image you shared, and that wasn't that long ago. He looks beautiful.

Cheers,

Cameron

What a Cutie! His beak is so yellow already and super pretty. My Dexter still had a dusky grey/brown/yellow beak when we brought him home @ 3 months and it's finally just completely turned now @ 1 year old.

Oh he's so cute!! He'll be fledging before you know it!

Oh my goodness, he is so cute!

What a sweetie, he sure is changing fast. Good to see new pics, thanks.

Haha! Yes, time really is flying... and soon enough, Max will be too! You must be so excited. Heck, I'm excited for you!

It's insane how swiftly they grow at this age. You can literally see the difference from one day to the next.

Very handsome boy! Just look at the personality on that face!!

Thank you guys for your kind words!
I can't wait until he fledges but at the same time I am enjoying every second of his baby stage lol. I've raised a lot of birds from cockatiels to lorikeets and I have really learned to treasure the short time between feathering and fledging LOL!

I'm taking him for another vet check next week. I took him a couple weeks ago when I posted that topic suspecting yeast, but he was fine. I'm taking him again next week because he has a tail-bob that is a little worrying and I have caught him open-mouth breathing a couple of times. I'm not sure if it's something to worry about or if he's just hot (it's s. Other than that, all is good! He's eating and pooping well.

Although.. He tends to regurgitate formula at times? It's kind of random and it doesn't seem to affect him but is there a reason for him doing this that I should be concerned about?

Keep in mind here that I have no experience whatsoever with hand-feeding.

But that said, in speaking with people who have extensive knowledge of hand-feeding ekkies, I've heard that their pumping reflex is not as strong and fast as other parrots... and that as a result they have to be fed more slowly. (I'm talking syringes, here.)

Yes Max is syringe fed, I tried but failed in converting him to the spoon. I've hand raised ALL of my birds on the spoon, so myself being the one to convert to syringe was definitely a challenge LOL!

Max is a very slow feeder. 40cc's takes 1/2 hour, but that includes me having to recharge his syringe 3-4 times per feed (I am looking into getting a bigger syringe because this sucks) and re-boiling water to keep his food hot. He just WON'T eat it unless it's 40-42c.

Everything seems to have gone fine and then he spits up some food later on. As per vet's advice i've been feeding him 8% of body weight each feed.
