What a great capture! I tried getting some flying shots of our birds the other day...it's harder then I expected...they seem to fly much faster when I'm trying to catch them in the cameral lens! LOLOL
You know...my first cockatiel became a little bully butt like Tsuka...he'd do the flying attacks, he'd lay "claim" to an area of our house and we wouldn't know it until we walked into the "invisible fence" and were suddenly getting dive bombed or charged at. Funny how scary such a little bird can be!
Anyway...one day, I was drying and putting away my dishes when suddenly Chaco decided he needed to give me a flying attack...I seen him coming and yelled out...Chaco! NO! BAD! Then I started swinging that dish towel like a airplane propeller infront of me...NOT trying to hit him, just swirling it around and around to hopefully distract him from actually attacking me...my thought was he'd veer course and head off to the living room...but NO..he flew RIGHT INTO THE SWIRLING dish towel!
He caught it on the "upswing" and it sent Chaco tumbling through the air!
The force at which he was coming at me with combined with the momentum of the dish towel swinging...I just couldn't believe it! I seen feathers flutter to the ground and went running to him...he hit my computer monitor and landed on the desk.
He was a little shaken, but readily stepped and I scolded him...in a loving relieved tone, for being such a bad bird flying at me like that. I don't think he associated me with the towel he flew into...I just don't know...he sure got his bell rung!
But you know what...from that day forward...he NEVER EVER attacked anyone in our house again.
I guess he thought the "bigger bird" would get him if he tried.
