was thinking of going to florida in april for my birthday has anyone taken their bird on a plane and what would the procedures be would i have to get a vet certificate or something like dogs they need to have shots.

Check with the specific airline for travel guidelines.

I've posted about this many times, but IMHO the safest method is to have the bird travel in a carrier WITH you in the cabin, below the seat.

Many have safely travelled in the cargo compartment, but I am not a fan of this method.

wouldn't he be too big for a carrier under the seat? he is a macaw afetr all right now he is a baby

Nope, he wouldn't fit under the seat, unfortunately. He'd be flying in the belly of the plane. Were you thinking of taking all your fids with you, or just the MM??

In any case, you will need an AA (airline approved) travel container, something like this:

Would there be a cage ready for your bird in Florida? Because you couldn't let him live in that travel cage.

I have one of them already it is for a big dog and and no he wouldn't be staying in that during the visit we would have a perch or some type of cage while there.
