So we found this kid (about 16ish) who was breeding tiels. Their cage was a disaster, it looked like he threw new newspaper on top of old newspaper and it hadnt had a good cleaning in a LONG time. Two tiels, he says about a year old, they have 10 eggs, no cuttlebone or anything in the cage. He has a swing and a flat perch along with the nest box attached to the cage. Their water dish looked like he dumped it than tried to clean it by rubbing his fingers on the bottom, leaving streaks. I had to change them out since it had mold in it. And of course they were eating seeds with lots of sunflowers.
We have them here now, nice clean cage, lots of perches. I put a cuttlebone in their cage, along with some crushed oyster in their pellet/seed mix. Im not sure if any of the eggs will be good since transporting and such. They havent been in the box much at all. The kid said the eggs were due to hatch in a week or so.
He says they arent tame but Lil stepped up for me this morning without a fight
Im not sure what they are.. im pretty sure Mo is pied? Or partial? If anyone can tell me, thanks!
Lil is the yellow one, Mo (for mohawk) the dark one.
