Rosie first molt was in June of 2010, this past spring time. I see indications that she is molting again (feather loss). That means it has only been 7 months ago. Isn't this too soon??

I think young birds molt more often...but I could be wrong. I seem to remember reading that somewhere. Max molted about 7-8 months apart last year.

Young parrots go through a mini molt at about 5 months give or take, then have the annunal molt. With Eclectus they could have once in awhile a very heavy molt (Mojo Molt) where by they seem to take forever to complete it but otherwise go through the normal yearly molt.

Rosie's first molt was pretty complete because all feathers were replaced over about 2 to 3 months except for the tail. Does that sound like a mini molt??

Bella is around five months and is in the process of going through her mini-molt right now. Most of it is where her red is growing in on the top of her wings and the teal/blue on the top of her head. I have to be careful when I pet her or else I get "yelled" at!

Yes they get very sensative to touch and very grumpy.
