More shelter stuff

Some new shelter toys! Skewers and wood macaw toys. They still need to find me bigger wood pieces or get it together and buy wood to chop up and drill....these aren't going to last long!

The shelter itself can get discounts from most parrot supply stores if they just ask for it. We get some of our stuff from stores like birds paradise or mysafebirdstore, like the mats, daisies, foam dice, the weaved type stuff that I don't actually know the name of lol. But there are some small business/hobby people we get stuff from. A lot of it comes from the dollar store or craft store, like cupcake liners, coffee filters, shredded fill paper, paper plates, napkins, etc. We also stop at thrift stores for some of our foam supplies since a lot of kid toy stuff is made of foam.

Thanks My poor birds are probably wondering where all their new toys are lately hahaha. Poor Max was running around today and went to reach for one of the skewers I did last night and I yelled at him to stop...poor guy gave me the sad bird look...luckily a piece of foam distracted him well enough!

Thanks so much! That actually sounds like exactly what I've been doing too! I've tried to be extra creative these days using safe household and office supplies like you mentioned, but still trying to keep it interesting. I work for an architecture firm and the large plotting paper (24x36") we go through constantly comes on VERY thick cardboard rolls (with no glue or adhesive, thankfully) that the parrots (macaws especially) at the rescue love. I have tons of extras at the moment if you'd like some!
