I'm trying to get a list of fellow conure's most favorite, will-do-almost-anything-to-get (like go back in the cage) treats and foods. Can you'all reply with the favorites?

Sunflower seeds. Millet.

Whatever is in the other bird's dish at the moment.

i use sunflowers as a very addictive treat. lol my bird has no problem being put in his cage, he just enjoys treats.
also you could try avi-cakes or another store bought treat if all others seem to be unexciting for your bird. some are designed to encourage foraging. atleast they claim too, the can be put in the bowl whole for your bird to tear up and enjoy themselves. they are also very identifiable from a distance so your bird will see it coming or more like going in the bowl for your situation.
more importantly i would try to identify his or her favorite fruit and or veggies. my lil guy likes cauliflower and orange juice or a mandarin piece. stay limited on acidic things though. loves the occasional grape or jalapeno as well.
remember birds are people too! :orange:

GREEN CHILES!!!!!!!!!!!!

He loves them more than anything, including me!

Peppers are a great source of vitamins AND they're easy to offer.
Common wisdom is that parrots have such poor taste and smell that hot peppers really excite and stimulate them. And they're very healthy (lots of good green and great nutrents)! So I give the Rickeybird lots! The only downside... when he eats a pepper, then preens, then wants to cudddle, it's a very incendiary experience.
I buy several kinds...
Poblanos, to stuff the end between the bars tightly (above a perch) so the Rbird can nibble at his leisure.
Jalapenos and Serranos, to toss into the cage's snack-bowl, to trick him into entering so I can shut the door. There's no such thing as a chile that isn't good for them. If he absolutely does NOT want to go back into his cage, a big fat Anaheim will always do the trick.
A while back, I posted a video of the bird eating one in the thread about beak flavors, and you can hear me sneezing!

Not a conure, but my guy goes NUTS for cheese. Its not healthy, so I only give it to introduce a new item like his pak o bird, or when starting new trick training and gain a lot of ground quickly in the initial stages of learning a new trick. After a few sessions I move on to a healthier treat. That's usually crushed pistachio nuts.

I guess I must be lucky. All I have to do to get Skittles to go into the cage is go up to the cage door and say "come on" and he goes.

Skittles is pretty obedient to verbal commands. I use treats mainly to reward good behavior.

That being said- he DOES have foods that he will do anything for. Mainly, bread, pizza crust and pasta but they are really no-no foods so I only do that on rare occasions.

The big thing with him is getting him to wait for his morning juice. He has to have his juice before I can even make the coffee. Little stinker.

Wow, cheese!?

Rb loves cheese, too... but of course, it's on the naughty-list, yeah...

Both of my Green Cheeks LOVE hemp seed.

You know the funniest thing. He used to be the most obnoxious, spoiled rotten and disobedient bird I'd ever seen. lol. All a result of my not setting boundaries/limits. Luckily, a friend pointed it out to me in time enough to do some retraining. It was NOT easy, but it is like night and day now. You'd never know he was the same bird.

Kermit LOVES blueberries. Blackberries are good too, but I think she prefers blueberries over all else. In general she likes the sugar in fruit, though X) And of course, she loves her fatty seeds (I only use them for her foraging toys these days, and let her eat pellets mostly).

edit; forgot to mention hemp and chia seeds. I use those to lure her into trying new veggies :D

Tiki loves sunflower seeds!!! But he loves playing with my husband even more. When the two of them get to playing that little bird will RUN from me at first sight knowing that mean mommy is coming to take him back to his cage. Fat chance of getting hubby to play the bad guy! lol

Skittles loves grapes. Getting him to wait while I wash, peel and rinse a grape for him is often quite a chore. Yes, I know he is pampered. Deal with it. lol.
