Just wanted to find out how many parrots on this forum are still in the process of moulting, and if so, about when did you first see the signs of it? My budgies always moult so fast, as have other birds I've had in the past. Nika is my first conure, and I'm just wondering when it typically is over. Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

Both my birds right now look a little moth eaten, but have only seen down feathers, no color. Neither of my birds have gone through their fist molt yet, but I'm assuming since I have seen the down and they both look a bit blotchy maybe they are molting slowly? Sry I am definitely no help.

Sounds like a moult. It usually seems to start with the down.

Sometimes when Rio is preening, she will fluff, and it looks like snow is raining down. So funny, then she like to catch and play with some of it.

Ralph tends to molt slowly and gradually over a period of several months, and is now about three months into his current molt. Since the molt is so gradual, he never really looks too bad. :)

some of my canaries, and cockatiels are moulting right now, nothing big--just some fluffy feathers, and pins coming thru.

As for my conures, they are all fine.(4 of them)

nobody else showing any signs....

I just started a molt thread on the cockatoos page, and there's another one in this section - so I'm guessing this is the time of year that all us new parents start to panic?
All the books said that molting is a stressful time for birds, but it seems to be pretty stressful for guardians as well!

Alice is well into her molt now, crest is more ore less done as she's had lots of pin feathers, several wing and tail feathers out and growing back, now her back and chest are looking a bit ragged and she keeps leaving feathers from those parts when she preens. It's been a good six weeks now. I believe it takes several months for galahs to replace all their flight feathers, but not sure whether the rest of the feathers are replaced over the same period.
