I LOVE Eclectus! The first time I saw a female Vos eclectus many years ago, I was absolutely stunned by how beautiful she was. At that time, I figured I would never have the honor of owning one because of the price. Well, now, sadly, they show up in rescue on a fairly regular basis. My female, Haley, was adopted from another rescue since I have a soft spot for the Vos girls. The male, Calypso, came into my shelter as a stray and no owner was found.
As a side note, I do a lot of work with various species of animals through my shelter and rescue work. I've been at it for 17 years. I am a part-time dog evaluator for a shelter, where I specialize in potentially dangerous dogs. Despite all that, the absolute worst bite I've ever received from any animal was my first Vos eclectus, Shelby. Sadly, she died, likely of a stroke, a couple years ago. But, I will always have a beak-shaped scar on my arm to remember her by.
Thanks for looking!
