Buddy my male eclectus loves to sit on my shoulder or snuggle on my chest and tries to nibble my lips and he sometimes tries to stick his beak in my nose.

Any advice on why he does this?

I tell Sailor, "you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose!"

They are just interested in us. Turn away when he starts. He'll "get it" eventually. If you watch birds interact together you'll notice they are not shy about telling each other "no" if they don't like something. I don't think birds get too upset when we stop them from doing something, and if they do -- well they get over it.

Small hand toys that you can offer for him to fool with and chew on instead of you might help. Some people wear bird jewelry like some wooden beads the birds are allowed to chew. I even know a woman who made a hat for her husband because their bird was always on his head. The hat is covered in buttons for the bird to pull on. She didn't actually "make" the hat. I mispoke. She decorated a hat.

I have GOT to remember that one! I love it!!! I've never heard that expression before, so I'm keeling over with laughter!!! :D

Poe's the same way. He loves lips, noses and ears. He knows "no bite!", but it's actually got to the point where when I say it, he knows I'm about to pull his beak off so he chomps down harder! Little bugger.
Distracting chew toys work great, but if he thinks he's being ignored, you watch how fast that beak grabs you to gently remind you he's there. :P

Beaking is a flock behavior. Chico likes to press his beak between my lips. Sometimes he leaves me a little tiny chunky. Thank goodness he doesn't full-on regurgitate in my mouth.
