I've had my GCC for over a month now. She is brining such joy to our lives! MY nine year old daughter enjoys spending time with her. They watch cartoons together Abby sits on her shoulder or lap and falls asleep they enjoy their time together. I always have Abby with me when i work on my computer. Her new thing is to walk all over the key board. She also enjoys watching the screen. My husband and i would love to get a bigger bird like a African Grey or a cockatoo. I have all the time in the world for these little sweeties. Keep loving your babies!!!! Their the best little things in the world even when they get into things their not suppose to!!

Is your GCC loud and screechy? I have been thinking about getting a handfed baby but don't know if they are loud. We had a Quaker that my husband HATED because the screeching hurts his ears. I'm scared to get a GCC and have it turn out loud and screechy.

My GCC is not loud at all. The only time he really screeches is when we put him in the cage to go to sleep at night. He "cries" for a few minutes and then goes to sleep, and even then it's not really loud. I live in an apartment and this hasn't been an issue at all.

Just be careful to not reinforce his crying (i.e., giving him any sort of attention when he screeches such as yelling back or getting him out of the cage). This way he learns that screeching doesn't get any reaction and he will be less likely to do it.

GCC are a lot more quieter then Quakers!!!!
